  • Round 1

    Round One of the 2026 Shepparton District Car Club Championship roared into action at Mooroopna on February 15, combining the opening championship round with a successful Come & Try event. A strong field of 14 competitors tackled nine timed runs across the day, with conditions allowing drivers to steadily improve as the event progressed SDCC RD1.

    Outright honours went to Josh Bohm in P Class (Production), who delivered a composed and consistent performance to finish on a total time of 16:20.475. Bohm’s pace across the later runs proved decisive, edging out fellow P Class competitor Russell Smith, who secured second outright with 16:56.211, just 35.736 seconds behind SDCC RD1. The result marks a strong start to the season for both Production drivers, immediately placing them at the front of the championship standings.

    In S Class (Special), Justin Aylett showed impressive speed throughout the day to claim third outright with a time of 17:24.379. Despite carrying a penalty during the event, Aylett remained competitive and demonstrated the pace that could see him feature prominently as the season unfolds SDCC RD1.

    James Thomson added further depth to the Production field, finishing fourth outright (17:38.503), while Adam Stonham rounded out the top five with a consistent drive to post 17:44.200 SDCC RD1. The close margins across the top five highlight how competitive Round One proved to be.

    In D Class, Noah Moore led the category with a strong sixth outright finish (17:48.759), ahead of Richard Graves, who also featured solidly in the mid-field battle SDCC RD1.

    C Class (Modified Under 1600cc) saw Nathan Graves take class honours with 17:55.829, while reigning multi-title holder Warren Mitchelson endured a challenging day with several penalties but still showed flashes of speed throughout his runs SDCC RD1.

    The Ladies Class battle went to Kerry Graves, who finished ninth outright with a time of 18:55.544, ahead of Em Stonham, who gained valuable experience in the Come & Try environment SDCC RD1.

    Junior Class representation came from Tommi Wallace, who completed the full event and secured a solid result in twelfth outright, continuing to build confidence and pace across the runs SDCC RD1.

    With competitive times across multiple classes and several new and returning drivers taking part, Round One has set the tone for what promises to be another exciting SDCC Championship season. Early points are now on the board, and if the opening round is any indication, 2026 will deliver plenty of close racing across all categories.

  • Round 2

    Round Two of the 2026 Shepparton District Car Club Championship returned to Mooroopna on March 1, once again running alongside a Khanacross Come & Try event. A smaller but competitive field of seven drivers completed ten timed runs across the day, with evolving track conditions continuing to challenge consistency and reward clean driving .

    Outright honours went to Warren Mitchelson in C Class (Modified Under 1600cc), who bounced back strongly from a difficult Round One to take victory with a total time of 20:48.433. Mitchelson delivered consistent sub-1:50 runs early in the event, building a solid foundation that proved enough to secure the win despite tougher conditions in the later runs .

    In S Class (Special), Justin Aylett continued his strong form, finishing second outright with a time of 21:01.231, just 12.798 seconds behind the winner. Aylett again demonstrated impressive pace and consistency, reinforcing his position as a key contender across both class and outright standings .

    D Class saw Richard Graves take class honours and third outright with a tidy performance, stopping the clock at 21:16.320. Graves maintained consistent times throughout the day, holding off Noah Moore, who finished fourth outright (22:34.370) despite encountering a costly penalty during one of his runs .

    The Ladies Class battle was led by Kerry Graves, who secured fifth outright with a total time of 24:05.309. Graves showed steady improvement across the runs and continued to build momentum as the event progressed .

    In C Class, Peter Cole rounded out the category behind Mitchelson, finishing sixth outright with a time of 26:17.367, while Junior competitor Blake Thompson completed the field in seventh outright. Thompson gained valuable seat time across the ten runs, continuing to develop consistency and confidence .

    With Mitchelson returning to form and Aylett maintaining strong consistency, Round Two has tightened the early championship picture. As drivers continue to refine their approach and adapt to conditions, the 2026 season is already shaping into a closely contested battle across multiple classes.

  • Round 3

    Round Three of the 2026 Shepparton District Car Club Championship was held at Mooroopna on March 29, once again alongside a Khanacross Come & Try event. A competitive field tackled multiple timed runs across the day, with changing track conditions testing driver adaptability and consistency as the event progressed. The event wrapped up slightly earlier than planned following an on-track rollover, with results determined from the completed runs .

    Outright honours went to Josh Bohm in S Class (Special), who delivered a dominant and consistent performance to finish on a total time of 19:48.116. Bohm set the pace early with a string of low 2:00-minute runs, building a strong advantage that proved difficult to challenge .

    Second outright went to Darren Bohm, also in S Class, with a time of 20:30.149. Darren showed steady improvement across the runs and maintained consistent pace throughout the day, securing a strong result and an S Class one-two finish .

    In C Class (Modified Under 1600cc), Warren Mitchelson continued his return to form, finishing third outright with a time of 20:31.942. Mitchelson remained competitive across all runs and stayed within striking distance of second place, highlighting his consistency across recent rounds .

    P Class (Production) saw Russell Smith lead the category with a fourth outright finish (21:02.788), continuing his consistent run of results this season. James Thomson followed in fifth outright (21:45.638), despite carrying a penalty during the event, while Brenton Thompson rounded out the Production field in sixth with a time of 21:48.217 .

    In D Class, Noah Moore secured seventh outright with a time of 22:07.308. Moore showed solid pace throughout the day before his final run added a bit more excitement than planned, ending in a rollover that brought proceedings to a halt. While recovery crew and the club’s medical response were expected, the scene quickly escalated to include an ambulance, two fire trucks, three police units, and search and rescue — the only thing missing was a helicopter. Most importantly, there were no serious injuries, and the situation was handled efficiently and safely .

    Junior Class honours went to Blake Thompson, who completed the event in eighth outright (24:24.267), continuing to build experience and consistency across the runs. Fellow Junior competitor Hamish Robson was unfortunately unable to complete the event due to a fuel/mechanical issue .

    With Josh Bohm returning to the top step and strong performances across multiple classes, Round Three has added further depth to the championship battle. As the season progresses, consistency and clean runs are proving crucial, setting the stage for another tightly contested round ahead.

  • Round 4

    Round Four of the 2026 Shepparton District Car Club Championship took place at Mooroopna on April 11 under twilight conditions, adding a new challenge for competitors as visibility and track conditions evolved throughout the evening. A smaller field took on ten timed runs, with consistency proving key as drivers adapted to the unique conditions .

    Outright honours once again went to Warren Mitchelson in C Class (Modified Under 1600cc), who delivered a dominant and consistent performance to finish on a total time of 32:21.007. Mitchelson set the benchmark early and maintained strong pace across all runs, further extending his championship lead .

    Second outright went to Seth McGill in D Class, who impressed with a clean and consistent drive to post a time of 33:13.131. McGill showed steady improvement across the runs and secured a well-earned podium finish .

    Rounding out the podium was fellow D Class competitor Luke Korzendorfer, finishing third outright with a time of 34:52.624. After a slower start to the event, Korzendorfer found rhythm in the later runs, steadily improving his times to lock in the position .

    In P Class (Production), Russell Smith was the sole representative and finished fourth outright with a total time of 35:51.550. Smith showed competitive pace early in the event, however a combination of penalties and slower runs later in the evening impacted his overall result .

    The twilight format added a unique dimension to Round Four, testing driver focus and adaptability as conditions changed across the event. With Mitchelson continuing his strong form and new competitors making their mark, the championship battle continues to build momentum as the season progresses.

  • Round 5

    Round Five of the 2026 Shepparton District Car Club Championship is set to be a crucial turning point in the season, with the championship battle tightening across multiple classes following four rounds of competitive racing. With points starting to stretch at the top but still tightly packed through the field, every run will be critical as drivers look to position themselves for the run home.

    Outright championship leader Warren Mitchelson (C Class) continues to set the pace on 34 points, extending his advantage with another strong performance in Round Four. However, the pressure remains on, with Russell Smith (P Class) moving into second place on 27 points after consistent finishes, and Noah Moore (D Class) close behind on 25 points. With all three drivers capable of strong results, the outright battle is far from settled.

    P Class (Production) remains one of the most competitive categories, led by Smith but with James Thomson (17 points) still well within reach. Drivers such as Josh Bohm, Brenton Thompson, and Adam Stonham will also be looking to climb the standings and challenge for higher placings.

    In D Class, Moore holds the early advantage, but the fight behind him is building. Richard Graves sits on 17 points, while Seth McGill and Luke Korzendorfer have both added themselves to the mix following strong recent performances.
